Masters Of The Air
In 2013, following the success of the highly acclaimed WWII mini-series ‘Band Of Brothers’ and ‘Pacific’, a third authentic wartime drama series was announced entitled ‘Masters Of The Air’.
Similar to their other productions of this genre, the story is based on real people and events as recorded in the book by Donald Miller of the same name. The story centers on US Army Air Forces 100th Bomb Group. The 100th earned the nickname 'The Bloody Hundredth' due to the inordinate number of losses they sustained in combat over the skies of Europe.
A few years passed before production actually started, but in 2019 things finally got underway. We were approached by the production company in the summer of that year with the view of producing all their needs regarding authentic flight jackets and associated garments.
It was the largest film production we have ever been involved in with literally hundreds of garments being required including flight jackets, trousers, caps, gloves, sweaters, helmets and more. As part of our service to help them produce as authentic scenes as possible we also supplied a large quantity of original vintage items, which included flight helmets, oxygen masks, headphones and goggles.
