Eastman Star Sportswear 28557 size 46 fits 42/44 chest
Eastman Star Sportswear 28557 size 46 fits 42/44 chest. This jacket has very little or no use. It is made from Italian horsehide and has broken grain like WW2 originals. I would consider a trade for a Roughwear 27752 in good condition size 42/44
Elite Units: 75th Ftr. Sqn. HLB-Corp. New York, N.Y., size #44. Contract /Purchase order No. W535ac 9709 37 – 3891 P
Elite Unit version of the 75th fighter squadron, who was a member of the 23rd Ftr. Grp on duty in the China – Burma – India Theater. The 75th squadron was the formal successor of the 2nd pursuit squadron ‘Panda bears’ from the famous American Volunteer Group (A.V.G. – ‘Flying Tigers’) after their induction into the USAAF on 4th of July 1942 and was commanded initially by Tex Hill.
The jacket is built on an HLB-Corp. contract which had a house-specific adoption of the A-2 specification (e.g. pocket-cut, specific label etc.) making it a very rare collectors piece because the overall production number of this specific contract was not very high. I am looking for a replacement to size #42 which suits me better so a change would also be an option.
The jacket is in new condition and not worn yet (collectors piece) and comes with the original collector’s case.
