Description
Very similiar in design to the Army Air Force Type A-3 cap, the N-3 cap was the counterpart for the U.S. Navy. Standardised in 1943, it was issued to ground crew as part of their 4-part fatigue uniform.
It was constructed of 6 triangular crown panels in a 'ball-cap' style design, and made from a strong 8 ounce cotton HBT fabric with stiff fibre board peak covered in the same HBT. Forest green cotton twill to the underside helps reduce glare.
