USS Lexington (CV-2), nicknamed "Lady Lex", was a US Navy aircraft carrier that saw much service during WWII. She was the lead ship of the Lexington class.

Lexington's ship's insignia was adapted from the sculpture by Henry Hudson Kitson's: Minute Man. To be ready at a minutes notice.

Airmen would often sew the carrier patch on their flight jackets as well as their squadron patch.
