USAAF - Type A-10C Oxygen Mask ORIGINAL WWII modified for film

We are often approached by the film and tv industry to supply authentic flight jackets for their productions.

However, as part of our service to such jobs, we also offer original vintage WWII artefacts should they wish to go to that degree of authenticity.

In the 2024 release of Masters Of The Air, we supplied many original articles, such as these original WWII USAAF Type A-10C oxygen masks.

These actually started out as Type A-9 masks. Both A-9s and A-10s are hard to find in the collectors market - especially in quantity - which is precisely what was needed for the film production.

However, we were fortunate to source a substantial quantity of unissued A-9 mask bodies (which were devoid of hoses) and harness straps. The body of the A-9 is virtually identical to the A-10C except for having longer face cheek panels. These were cut down to match the A-10C shape.

The hoses were sourced separately, and the harnesses, side-clips, buckles and nozzles were manufactured and installed to create a mask that is as much like the original A-10C spec as possible.

It is hard to find any war movie that ever used original A-10 masks since they are so hard to find, so these are exceptional pieces and a rare part of film history.
