Description
Standardised in September 1944, the USMC P-44 cap is made from a stout Olive Drab Herringbone Twill (HBT) cotton fabric.
Modelled very closely on the 1941 pattern US Army HBT cap, the USMC version differed slightly in having the pleats around the crown spaced differently so the USMC EGA emblem could be printed on the front.
These distinctive looking caps with their octagonal cornered tops, epitomised the US Marine look.
Made entirely in Japan, who are the gurus in producing these types are garments, our recreation is made from an outstanding Mil Spec quality HBT which we had custom-made for the purpose, rendering a cap of superb quality and authenticity.
