P-53 SHIRT - Frogskin HBT Special Forces

Description

This version of the P-53 is an unofficial version, which was used by Special Forces in Vietnam.

In the early part of the Vietnam War (before official camo combat clothing was available), some Special Forces units which needed clothing that offered better camouflage qualities than the normal issue 'greens' had custom ‘theatre-made’ garments made from various camo print material.

Our recreation of this extremely rare model shirt is taken directly from an original example so it is a completely authentic recreation of that time. Made from a sturdy Mil spec. USMC 100% cotton HBT fabric, with Frogskin camo print, we have recreated the original exactly as it was.

(This fabric has been specially custom-made and dyed, in Japan, to match the original wartime Mil Specs. It is the most incredibly accurate fabric, with the correct weight and firm handle that is found on original military garments of this kind - it is not a fashion lookalike fabric. It has the unmistakable feel and drape one would expect from a military grade combot garment, which is apparent the moment one puts their hand to it. It was very expensive to produce, but makes the most amazing garment which is second to none).

This very practical combat shirt has two button down pockets on each breast, with a single, deep and large inside pocket just like the government issue version. It can be worn as just a shirt, or layered underneath which then makes it function more like a jacket.
