The fourth addition to the Elite Units series is another from the China, Burma, India (CBI) theatre of operations: The 75th Fighter Squadron 'TIGER SHARKS'.
The 75th was one of three squadrons that belonged to the famed 23rd Fighter Group during WWII. During their service with that unit, they carved themselves an impressive record, earning a Presidential Unit Citation.
Their squadron insignia was one of that of a turning Tiger Shark, spitting red bullets from stylised fins.
In collaboration with layered-leather patch artist, Sean Collins, of 'A2 Jacket Patches', our recreation is taken directly from an original 75th jacket, emulating every detail with utmost authenticity, sporting beautifully hand-crafted, layered leather insignia, just like the original garment. We cannot emphasize enough the quality in these stunning patches. Each piece is hand-cut and then sewn using minute, accurate stitching, with every detail matched precisely to the original.
This product also debuts our recreation of one of the rarest original maker A-2 contracts that can be found - the H.L.B. Corp, contract 9709 37-3891P. Contracted in March 1937, only 375 pieces were produced - only a couple are known to have survived to present day.
It has a number of unique features, not least the M-31 Kwik zip. The Kwik brand and trademark, which disappeared after the war, was acquired and reinstated again by ourselves several years ago. We have re-tooled to produce the early, and very rare, M-31 model Kwik - the exact type used in this contract of A-2.
The garment is finally given our TimeWorn® process, which renders the garment with a stunning vintage patina that is unbelievably convincing.
The product is delivered in a custom-made, metal-edge, hard-card box, to treasure forever, and eventually hand-down to your next generation - just like an original.
